BCHS Parent Meeting will be held Wednesday, February 3rd in the BCHS Auditorium from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. At the parent meeting, representatives from BCHS will be available to discuss Boone's graduation requirements, the scheduling process, class requirements and pre-requisites, and to answer any questions you may have.

Our full-color, hard-bound yearbooks are on sale for 2009-2010!
They are $28 and can be purchased between now and early spring. A mailing was sent out just after Thanksgiving with your Jostens account number, but if you have misplaced that paperwork, you CAN create a new account on their website and place your order!

ILP Info Meeting for Parents!!! ***Re-Scheduled***
The ILP Information Meeting for Parents on Thursday, January 28th at 7:00pm in the OMS Library has been re-scheduled for Thursday, February 18th at 7:00pm. (It is not necessary to bring your students to this event). Parents will be given their Login information for their student(s). We will also have a presentation of ILP and all of its parts. Parents will then be given an opportunity to log in at a computer in our Computer Lab to view their students' ILPs and receive help as needed. The whole event should take approximately an hour. If you have any questions, feel free to email Ms. Judd: carrie.judd@boone.kyschools.us.

The "Evening with the Stars" banquet will be held on May 4th at 6:30pm at Receptions in Florence. It is a banquet that is meant to honor student involvement and achievement. If you know of a student who has been a state or national winner in an organized, competitive group, please download the application form to be included in this event! Some groups to consider are: Academics, cheerleading, dance team, gymnastics, Duke Talent Search, Odyssey of the Mind, Speech/Drama, Equestrian, Band, Art, Music, Theater, Reflections, Bluegrass Games, Chorus, Technology and Team Sports. This would also include students who have been published in a state or national magazine. After-school tutoring is now available at Ockerman on Tuesdays and Thursday from 2:45 - 3:30pm. This is a free service offered to students who feel like they need the extra time at school and the help of a tutor to work on homework, study for tests, or review concepts from class. Students who require medicine to be administered at school must have a form on file with the school. For instructions on what the requirements and procedures for administering medication at school, click here. To download and print the permission form, click here.
Immunization Requirements:
If you are unsure of what requirements we have for immunizations, click here to see Boone County's list of required shots by grade level.
We are always accepting Box Tops, so keep them coming! Any student wanting to turn them in should bring them to their homeroom teacher, who will pass them along to the PTSA.
Dedicated in 1965, Ockerman Middle School has a history that is longer than any of the other middle schools in Boone County. We received a total remodel in 2005 with the addition of a new gymnasium, science wing, and computer labs. Our 47 member faculty provides daily instruction for approximately 750 students. Our middle schoolers attend Boone County HS, Larry A. Ryle HS, and Randall C. Cooper HS. We are glad you've chosen to visit us. Welcome!
